Heap still matters when auto-capture and simpler setup speed are the priority.

Pendo and FullStory solve adjacent but important jobs. Pendo is strongest when product analytics and in-app guidance need to live together. FullStory is valuable when session replay and experience diagnostics are central. If the company is technical and wants a tighter product infrastructure stack, PostHog deserves serious attention. If the company mainly needs in-app adoption guidance plus usage analysis, I would look hard at Pendo.

The expensive mistake in this category is confusing instrumentation with insight. The tool should shorten decisions, not lengthen reporting meetings.
